Last night I downloaded and decided to purchase the iRealSMS 3.0, and I went ahead and purchased it via paypal. I got an email from paypal saying the order went through, but nothing from iRealSMS, aka the serial that was supposed to be attached. I then attempted to use my email that I had used for the paypal to recover via the app, as well as online via the support section on the main page. Neither of which are showing up in the database and it keeps giving me an error.

Would someone be able to provide me with a good solution for this, seeing as I have paid for the application, I would love to use it =D

The app doesn't use activation serial codes. The only way it will Activate is by validating the serial of your iPhone, which it does when you launch the application(Which requires and Internet conncetion, which we assume you have since you need an Internet connection to install the app).
This serial check takes place during every launch while in trial mode and after purchase it takes place one time as it downloads the license to the device. Make sure your installing the correct version.

2.0 will prompt you for a serial. As will the quick version. 3.0 gives no such option. So please double Check.

Alright, so I realized my mistake and ended up getting 3.0, but I did pay for it, and it was downloading the license and working... and now all of a sudden it is not... I emailed the support email a few days ago, but I haven't gotten anything back from them.

Is there anything else I can do to help remedy this problem?

I have had a similar problem. I had the iRealSMS 3.0 as a trial on my iphone but I did a restore to fix some other unrelated problems I was having. Then I re-downloaded iRealSMS 3.0 and decided to buy it from the website which sent me to PayPal to pay for it. I got all the confirmation emails from both service@paypal.com.au and billings@irealsms.com to let me know that I actually bought it. It ended up costing me $15.00 Australian plus any extra fees that the bank will add for exchanging currency and international purchases etc. so it is probably closer to $20.00. I could buy around 10 games from iTunes for that amount. Now whenever I launch the app it comes up with the cannot download serial crap and the trial period is up so now it just exits the app. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app with a reboot after each.
After paying a lot of money for a broken app that refuses to work properly is it any wonder that people use cracked versions?

Captain have you upgraded to the latest beta version? I know a lot of steps were taken to fix this license error.

I downloaded the latest version from cydia. Maybe it would have gone a bit smoother if I had paid for it from within cydia instead of installing it as a trial and then buying from the website.
I did use iRealQuickSMS for a while too before iRealSMS. Could this be part of the problem?

The iRealQuickSMS should not be a problem at all, and I don't think buying it through the website should be either... However on that part I am not sure.

Do you have the latest beta installed? Or just the one from the official repo?

PM me your iPhone serial. I'll check the license.
